she tweets, making sure to tack a smiley face on the end for effect. Her fingers shake as she hits the send button on her phone, and tears blur her vision for a moment as she lifts her head. The man in the yellow hat refreshes his laptop, a slow smile crawling up his face. He nods at the man next to him in the blue deep vee, and the lighter is moved away from her contract.
“Good.” He tells her, rolling up the document as brad stuffs the lighter in his pocket. “You’re free to go.”
She lets out a shaky sigh of relief, bolting up from the chair and heading for the door. Before she can twist the knob though, he speaks again.
“Oh, and Naya,” He says, “Bring me Darren.”
